The Packing Operator operates packaging equipment to package finished product from manufacturing operations.
- Sample product following Quality Systems Procedures
- Fill bags using bagging equipment
- Properly close and seal bag using heat sealer and place on pallet in bagging location
- Properly operate weight scales at all bagging locations
- Properly stack and tag bags and sacks at all bagging locations
- Properly sample bags and sacks at all bagging locations
- Follow proper sanitation procedures as described in the associated SOP
- Maintain all associated work areas in a clean, neat manner during the entire shift
- Safely handle chemicals and effectively clean all designated plant areas
- Remove plant generated waste to the trash compactor and safely operate the compactor
- Attend all company mandated training sessions - these include Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, etc.
- Can perform minor maintenance on associated equipment
Competencies and Skill Requirements
- Must be self-disciplined, a team player, and be able to handle emergency situations common to the operation
- Must follow all written and oral instructions and takes direction from Production Supervisor/Manager
Education and Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Food manufacturing or infant formula manufacturing experience preferred
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift 50 lb./25 kg bags or drums during the batching and bagging process.
- Need ability to stand, crouch and climb to perform adjustments to equipment, use ladders, and perform various types of manual labor
Regulatory Requirements
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, follow CGMP's, and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirements
- Will comply with all applicable federal, state, and local standards for the manufacture of infant formula and other non-infant nutritional foods.
