Role Description

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Allerton, Iowa

Start Date: ASAP

Schedule: Rotating Schedule

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Ensure that all equipment is operating effectively and efficiently, including preventative maintenance, overhauls, modification, fabrication, welding, and mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Welding-must be able to satisfactorily weld stainless and black iron pipe, or have advanced welding training and demonstrate ability to use this knowledge on the job
  • Refrigeration-must be able to prove their ability on refrigeration systems throughout the plant, or complete heating and air conditioning training and demonstrate ability to use knowledge on the job
  • Electrical-must be able to work satisfactorily on 110, 240, and 480 volts as well as trouble shoot electrical problems encountered on the job, or complete electrical training and demonstrate ability to use knowledge on the job
  • Plumbing-must be able to maintain plumbing throughout the plant. Locate and correct problems
  • Boiler Operator & Maintenance-must be able to maintain boiler and locate problems
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs of production and processing equipment as well as utility related equipment in compliance with all safety procedures
  • Support the installation of new equipment, including support and implementation of preventive maintenance program
  • Ensure all repairs are documented
  • Complete work orders as assigned
  • Dedicate effort to safety as we expect every employee to leave work in the same condition as they arrive
  • Follow all ByHeart good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
  • Exhibit the values and ethics of ByHeart through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment
  • Adhere to all ByHeart Quality, Safety and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity.
  • Attend required training, including but not limited to, Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF)
  • Work schedule includes on call and weekend shifts

Skills & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 0-4 Years of Manufacturing Maintenance Experience
  • Qualification period of at least 180 days and then prove qualified in 2 areas to move C-plumbing, welding, refrigeration, boiler operator, and electrical
  • Certification and/or License - None
  • Must obtain boilers license with in first 12 months
  • Knowledge company computer systems, specifically SAP
  • Knowledge of machine shop equipment
  • Skill in proficient computer usage
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work in collaboration effectively and foster good teamwork
  • Able to follow directions and meet deadlines
  • Able to perform mechanical overhauls on pumps, motor bearing changes, and piping projects
  • Able to perform all required preventative, productive, predictive, and scheduled maintenance procedures
  • Able to perform electrical repairs such as motor wiring, motor starter fuses, and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs
  • Able to perform fan repairs, motor changes, and pump overhauls
  • Able to demonstrate abilities to perform in a safe, positive, systematic fashion
  • Able to perform task and duties without constant supervision
  • Able to understand the basic types of controls used in the plant and how they affect the process
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
