Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Facilities and Maintenance Manager provides support for the efficient operation of our facilities, including coordination of building projects and maintenance services.

Leadership & Supervision:
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring high standards of performance.
  • Develop and maintain a positive, efficient work environment by fostering teamwork, discipline, and accountability.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for the maintenance team

Maintenance Operations:
  • Oversee daily maintenance activities, including scheduled repairs, inspections, and emergency troubleshooting.
  • Ensure timely and efficient completion of all maintenance work orders.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize equipment lifespan.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies.

Inventory & Budget Management:
  • Manage the maintenance inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts to ensure necessary materials are readily available.
  • Develop and manage the annual maintenance budget, including forecasting needs for tools, equipment, and repairs.
  • Monitor expenditures and ensure maintenance costs are controlled within budgeted limits.

Equipment & Facility Management:
  • Monitor the performance of key production equipment and infrastructure, identifying and addressing potential issues before they lead to failure.
  • Lead efforts for equipment upgrades, replacements, and repairs.
  • Ensure the maintenance and operation of the facility meets health, safety, and regulatory standards.

Troubleshooting & Repair:
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, guiding technicians as necessary.
  • Work closely with other departments to prioritize and schedule repairs and preventive measures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and repairs conducted.

Competency & Skill Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in a maintenance management role, preferably in Spray Drying, Dairy, Pharma, or Food Manufacturing.
  • Experience with CMMS, SAP, and MS Office.
  • Knowledge of the building process and construction principles.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and building codes.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift 50 lb./25 kg.
  • Must have ability to stand, crouch, climb, and work in confined spaces to perform adjustments to equipment, use ladders, and perform various types of manual labor
  • Ability to wear PPE as necessary

Regulatory Requirements
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, follow CGMP's, and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirements
  • Will comply with all applicable federal, state, and local standards for the manufacture of infant formula and other non-infant nutritional foods.
